I decided to combine our What’s Up Wednesday’s series with our Pet Safe Business Spotlight again. This time bringing you a pet service company David’s Pet Services, “West Hartford’s safest (and most fun) dog walking company”. They provide dog sitting and training in this part of Connecticut as well.
I met David in one of the many helpful professional pet sitting Facebook groups but found that he stood out as a pet care business owner for a couple of reasons.
- He came to the pet industry not from the typical corporate world leap-of-faith, or as a person who was laid off. He comes from the world of therapy. While he had a great job as a therapist out of school, he also was dog walking and pet sitting for friends. When the pet care got so demanding, he was forced to make the choice – you can guess what decision he made.
- David has a unique way of applying his therapist training to manage his staff, but also train dogs. He has a unique perspective that many of us who are lucky to be in the pet care forums with him have been fortunate to have access. He’s positive reinforcement and positively wonderful.
While our conversation will speak for itself I hope like our other pet safe business spotlight companies you get inspired by David and his journey. He discusses the value of the ProPet Hero course to his company as well as the process and progress he sees available to him. While relatively new to our industry, David is setting a wonderful and positive example.
David’s company is also one of the few taking advantage of the Facebook live videos. His staff have been rocking it out and giving a great glimpse into the wonderful world of professional dog walking. Check David and his company out in all of his various ways below.
